The Port Lavaca Main Street Theatre announces the cast selections for the upcoming
children’s production "Monster in the Closet" by Angela D. Stewart. Auditions were
held the first week in March. By double and triple-casting several parts, director
Jody Weaver has been able to include 35 children, ranging in age from 7 to 15, in
this production. The cast includes kids from Port Lavaca, Seadrift, and Point Comfort.
These young thespians were rehearsing 2 to 3 times a week at the First United Methodist
Church and began rehearsals at the theatre after the final performances of PLMST’s
production, "The Foreigner". "Monster in the Closet" is a wonderful original story
in the spirit of "Monsters, Inc.". The show opened on Friday, June 3 at 8 pm and
continued on June 4 at 2 pm and 8 pm, June 5 at 2 pm, June 9 at 8 pm, June 10 at
2 pm and 8 pm, June 11 at 2 pm and 8 pm and June 12 at 2 pm.
